Moving Forward » So what happens if a CEO is voted off the island? So what happens if a CEO is voted off the island? |
|
| Is there even a point in the first place? The CEO is typically the actual business owner, here in SL the term 'corporation' seems to be a make belief thing, as most companies would be better described as sole proprietorship, or partnerships. That being the case, it's impossible to vote them out of their own company. They aren't employees, they're owners. You can't take their land, money, and responsibilities and just push them onto someone else. The other change that worries me is auditing. Typically the only way you can really pull off a full audit, is to get the password to someones account, log in their avatar and peek around at their assets. Dig through their transactions history and make sure that the money they have on hand and tied up in assets is real, and not just borrowed to look like they have more then they do come audit time. This might seem like a brilliant idea to some of you, but... Unless I'm mistaken, giving away your password is against the linden labs terms of service. Not to mention just how ethically gray it is. Pictures are ineffective, because it's easy for many people to edit them. At best, you might stop skill-less opportunists, but no one who's genuinely out to scam the share holders. I suppose you could demand actual video footage of the av going to check their bank accounts, and whatever else you might demand. That would be a lot harder to edit for most people. |

SL CapEx Public Forum » 'Fines.' 'Fines.' |
|
| Fines... An interesting idea. It raises a couple concerns though. The most immediate one is what happens to the collected fines from late postings, or any future fine-able offense? Then I have to wonder a bit about the nature of the fund... It starts at 20k, then goes down. There's no real indication as to why it has to be -that- high? At a fine rate of 200L per day, that gives them 100 days with a frozen account to waste... Is this meant to be a 'deposit' that gives them 100 days worth of total offense? If that's the case, you'll need to specify that, and make note about any rules as to weather the CEO is allowed/required to replenish the account to 20k again. |

| Do they actually own the stock, or is it just given to them on loan for so long as they remain part of staff? If they are on loan.. And they quit or get fired between dividend postings, what will they receive in compensation for what they've done that month? |

SLCapEx Suggestions » pop up check window Re: pop up check window |
|
| I wouldn't have a problem with a pop-up confirmation if it is indeed a toggled feature. Otherwise, I can see a few issues with people that use popup blockers, or don't bother to install flash or the likes. Making a contrasting, different colour for buy and sell on the confirmation page is a great idea. I'm behind it 22660 votes! |

| And that King, is why I don't believe we should be forcing CEO's to make their personal information public. | ||

SLCapEx Suggestions » Forum Rules, and advertisement. Forum Rules, and advertisement. |
|
| I saw that there is a request for forum mods and I realized... There's no posting of forum rules. Now, it's nice that we're all fairly mature and manage to behave so well up until now. Still. Before it can be modded, there needs to be a clear set of rules. Will we be allowed to swear? Will adult material be acceptable, topical or not? I suggest advertisement be allowed, but be a little limited. Self-promotion where appropriate is tactful and may even help someone. Otherwise... I suggest a promotion forum. Beyond that, I can't really think of any rules that aren't just common sense. Overly spamming, trolling, that sort of thing. |

| Alright, thank you for the swift reply. I don't think I'll be able to make it to the Q&A, but I do look forward to hunting down the full details. I'm tempted to suggest putting any fines into the fraud protection fund.. Seems almost appropriate. |

| I don't agree with reducing shares, that feels way too much like theft. Not to mention, it would be a lot harder to deal with in case of accidental deductions.. You could deduct 400 shares valued at .50, realize there was a mistake and... If the shares have been given away, how do you return them? Money also isn't volatile. |

| Alright... Curious though, isn't allen as entitled to compensation as everyone else, or am I missing something? | ||

SLCapEx Suggestions » Important Note Referendum Re: Important Note Referendum |
|
| That's called branding... In the short term, it might be beneficial for the new owners to keep the name AVIX, but that doesn't give them a chance to use their own name, and shift the image away from Investor Allen onto themselves. I think it would be best if they just kept a quiet little note under the new logo 'Formerly known as Allenvest International Exchange (AVIX)'. |
