Re: Bart Heart Entertainment (BHE Films) (DV
Thank you, Sportbets for this announcement. As I would of never posted it on another exchange or ask someone to do this. I didn't even realize I have a SLCapEx account, but it seems that I do and have shares of SLW and INC. iVentures I find it odd that you would post your comment as above, this is the greneral investment disussion, and you didn't seem to have a problem with MIF or the ISE chest thumping posts. But like I said, I wouldn't have posted it here, but do appreciate Sportsbets support on our new IPO. I would have and did contact the CEO's of the investment companies on SLCapEx personally yesterday. But if SLCapEx would allow this post to stay, I will check back daily to answer any questions about this IPO or you can IM me direct.

Thanks
Bart Heart CEO

Since we are NOT selling the video or the URL info, the person using the DVD is just a renter. At NO time can they get the URL or download the movie so we are not distributing the movie. This is no different from NetFlix or any of the other online rental companies, just we are doing it in SL. All the info we have got from the 2 months of reasching this, has come back with no licensing needed. One of our main contacts has been the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

The one thing we are still not sure of with copyrights is if we are going to sell the DVD with the movie poster on it or not.

Hopefully this answered your question iV and Sport.

Edit is add below:
These our RL movies not SL movies, although we have made movies in SL.
Downloading movies from Bit Torrent is against the law as far as I am aware of. At no time will anyone renting our movies, will they get the URL or be able to download the movies.
Yes we will be getting about 10K USD, our scriptor is one of the top scriptors in SL has worked with Millions of Us, and slenda.com on there sim and does get paid by the hour. We have signed a contract in RL not to disclose any info on how the scripts work or any of the internal workings of what we are doing. So he will be getting paid about 20% of the IPO money over the first 3 months. Second cost is the actual cost of the movies. We have to buy the movies, to be able to rent them. We can't just go out and rent the movie and RIP it to our servers. Movies are not cheap when they first come out, now old movies we can get from a bulk distributor. That will take about 70% of the IPO money, but will also be an assest of the company. Third is the servers that will hold the movies, once the company starts renting the DVDs part of that money will go to the server fees.

Re: Bart Heart Entertainment
The market is not limited, there are a lot of people that use the movies in BHE and thats just a small portion of the residents grid wide. We have people that wait for the new releases to come out.
Lets face it SLCW is working on a deal with MBC, how many people our going to sit down and watch that, when people can watch it in RL. Well someone will, just like people watch RL movies in SL. There is a market out there, we have already tested the market with the BHE residents and the staff at Club Carnage. We have a HUD that you can where so the movie are full screen.
Ivan I never said that the scriptor was getting 10K USD. He will probably get about 20% of it over the first 3 months. We already have the servers running that cost is low. The actual DVD is what cost the money. Land doesn't cost any thing for tier, since I already have 40 sims. And we will be on the SLX with the DVDs and that is where the majority of the sales will come from. It takes about 3 movie rentals to break even. And there is not rights to purchase, we have talked to the MPAA about what we are doing, and as long as we are not giving out the URL or allowing people to download the movie, we fall under the movie rental business.
And I can't guarentee anything, but I would never let any investor down, my name in SL is more inportant then losing 10K usd for investors. Im an SL Lifer, since this is my RL job. My past should speak for itself, Anyone that had stock in BHE when we did the buy back, doubled there money. VHI has paid 22% of the IPO price in dividneds since we IPO'd in July 07, and VHI is up to 26L$ per share, with liquity.

Re: Bart Heart Entertainment (BHE Films) (DV
Nitely we are not charging to watch the movies, it is set up as a demo for our services. Just like Blockbuster doesnt have to pay for the license to show a movie on there TVs in the store. Well only build the theater for this demo. Everything we have used is legal we have been in contact with the MPAA in California.

I wasn't taking it personally, I guess what I was trying to say was there are all kinds of people in SL that are looking for all kinds of things. I have even watched SLCW matches on youtube. I think it is great and would even think about participate in a match, hmmm my finishing move could be call the Heart Attack or Heart Breaker. LOL. Send me a LM so I can check out a match.

Re: Bart Heart Entertainment (BHE Films) (DV
We do have a NDA, but that was drafted up for the scriptor. To do with the scripts and server info. But I wouldn't see why, we would need to fill out one just for info. All the info is public knowledge. As far as private investor, I'm not sure how that would work, since we are going to be a public company. I have one other person ask me about that, I told them to buy shares in the IPO. But anything is away open for discussion. Feel free to IM me in world, if I'm not on it will go to my Blackberry and I can let you know how long it will take me to log in. Usally its minutes.

Re: Bart Heart Entertainment
Yes iV this is very close to what Netflix is doing, but viewed in SL. All you need to view the movies is the latest version on quicktime, just like any other media needs in SL. The biggest difference is that the movie doesn't really run on the SL server side, it actually runs on the client side. One of the reason for doing this is if 2 people our on the land, they can both watch different movies at the same time. Also with performance, we have had no problems today with performance, only with the SL view in version 1.19, but that was taken care of.

Re: Urgent Temptations Sim

Edited by moderator May 16th 2008, 16:39
There is a simple fix for this, get the sim rolled back to the day before this happened. LL is pretty good on getting to this fast. I have never heard of a sim being wipe, except in 2 situations the owner or estate mangers send the stuff back, or LL place 2 sims in the same grid location. The second one I have never heard of LL making this mistake.

Second I don't know about the drama that is going on here, I just scanned that page, but if there is a roll back and you own something on the sim, that you don't want there. You also have to contact LL to remove your content, if you are banned from the sim. If you created it for the company, hopfully the company was smart enuogh to get it put in the group name or they have a contract with the owner that all object created on the sim are owned by the company. But if that is the case, it can still be removed by LL after the roll back the company would have to take it to the courts to get damages paid on the content being taken.

Just my 2L$, but Im assuming that is not the case and a roll back was already asked for.

PS LL can tell who did what on the sim before the content was wiped from the sim.
