Re: Liquidity and Value
Indeed! I did not follow the whole episode when AIC decided to run away from WSE and to create AVIX, but what you see on AVIX (and to some extend on WSE) is a lack of investors. So the ones who have quite a number of shares in a given company can play with minor shareholders and are able to move the share price very quickly. This is unfortunate, and so the main question is whether AVIX can survive that long without a strong brand on SL. To be continued...

Usage of Google Translate
Do you want a expenditure-tight orange juice, or some fresh orange juice in a hurry?

For those of you who have in mind to go to France in the coming months and use Google Translate as a help tool (check out www.google.com/translate_t),
here are some interesting findings:

Enter in English:
fresh-squeezed orange juice
The translation into French is:
jus d'orange frais-serré

Enter in French:
jus d'orange frais-serré
The translation into English is:
expense-tight orange juice

Enter in English:
expense-tight orange juice
The translation into French is:
jus d'orange dépense-serré

Enter in French:
jus d'orange dépense-serré
The translation into English is:
expenditure-tight orange juice

And now enter in French the correct translation which is:
jus frais d'oranges pressées
And you get:
fresh orange juice in a hurry

So be fast!

For your information: the Google Translate tool is used by the unique free HUD that provide real time translations in Second Life. Check out videos on YouTube.

Verballis » cash on hand 5000?
Re: cash on hand 5000?
Good comment.
5000 L$ was the cash on hand at the moment the IPO was entered at AVIX.
Today Verballis has about 75000 L$ in cash.

I did not manipulate any of the words.
I simply use the Google Translate tool,
and posted what that tool gives!
Nothing prevents you from doing the same and checking.

By the way: I AM French!

SLCapEx Suggestions » IPO's vs No. of Traders
Re: IPO's vs No. of Traders
Re Verballis: This is indeed the idea ; SL rates will certainly be cheaper, but we will also be using the services of RL freelance translators ; therefore we will need to find the balance between the use of those freelancers, and the use of SL interested parties ; regarding the payments, there should be a mix of RL payments to the freelancers and SL shares to SL interested parties. I had a draft of the original business plan that I need to refine before posting it to the forum.

SLCapEx Suggestions » Chat Room.....
Re: Chat Room.....
Agree on the idea.
Although from experience using the WSE chat, I was really disappointed ; there are very few people using it, and to be frank I believe that we have more than enough using an SL group to exchange idea. It gives the same flexibility (but of course, you need to be in SL ;-)

My two-cents input...
