This is a great idea and definitely added value in terms of comparing RL with SL markets. Since we're only given 1 hr, this would only show the mentality of day traders and not necessarily financial valuation measures through the company's Income Statement/Balance Sheet items.

You may want to also consider including Exchanges VSTEX (www.vstex.net) and ISE (http://www.intlstockexchange.com/). Both of these Exchanges have Forums as well.

I look forward becoming a tester and the results of this experiment.

we are a team from the University of Munich (LMU) and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). We are doing a study about asset market trading in Second Life. For the success of our experiment, we need SL traders. In other words, you!

The experiment takes about 60 minutes to complete. Of course, you do not need to invest any of your own money to participate. On the contrary, you can use your skills and experience to compete against other traders and win a lot of money in our market. You also get 1000L$ for certain for participating.

But mostly, you would contribute a lot to our project and help us find out how markets (in a real as well as in a virtual environment) work and, ultimately, how to make them better.
If you are interested or you have questions about how it all works, check out our site (http://www.iom.bwl.uni-muenchen.de/personen/mitarbeiter/fiedler/secondlife3/index.html );, or contact directly via IM (Athene Auer) or by email fiedler@lmu.de

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

<![CDATA[ Re: What are the little numbers in brackets?]]> http://slcapex.com/forums/topic/announce/1942
My question was have you decided this is a viable feature? I have checked the figures manually and they do not make sense to me. One example is that the bracketed number is telling me I made a purchase for 201.48 when in fact it was for 488.25. I went back over the numbers to see it it was reflecting a current market value but that number was way off from the current market. Any idea what this number is actually telling me. Is there a formula I can use to verify? I am pretty sure I am not the only one wishing for this information.

<![CDATA[ SL Capital Exchange Implements "GOOD UNTIL CANCEL" Limit ]]> http://slcapex.com/forums/topic/announce/1939 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am pleased to report that programming for a much requested and long anticipated Feature enhancement has been completed.

Effective IMMEDIATELY Investors have the Option to place User determined LIMIT Orders (BUY or SELL) simply by selecting their preferred EXPIRATION DATE using a drop-down menu within the Order Placement System.

For now, traders may select EXPIRATION Dates of (1 Week) (1 Month) (3 Months) or (1 Year). After a brief system-wide shakedown period we anticipate being able to also add a GOOD UNTIL CANCEL Expiration Option.

As part of such shakedown ALL CURRENT SLW (SL Wallet) LIMIT ORDERS have been set to "NO EXPIRATION" (Good Until Cancelled). Assuming we find no programming or maintenance issues we will implement additional options "soon" - Stay Tuned.

NOTE: This has been a LONG-AWAITED UPGRADE. Please join me in thanking our CTO Chango Kanto for his hard work in bringing this feature online.

Happy Trading!

Bo Beck

As many of you have noticed there have been updates made to the website such as forum search feature, option to read latest posts first, ability for users to edit their own posts, displaying top 10 shareholders instead for each company, website speed improvements, URL links in posts, and more.

A lot of user have given feedback and suggestions to improve the site and the list is very long, but hopefully I can get to most of these over the next few months.

I have created this new forum for feature related announcements so the users can keep abreast with the latest.

Please don't create new topics in this forum, its meant only for announcements, but feel free to reply if you have feedback or find bugs. Beta testers are needed to test the new features so you are welcome to reply to this post if you want to volunteer.
