Is everyone tired of SLW?
Edited by author Apr 13th, 18:58
There have only been 6100 shares traded so far today. How am I going to make any money without wild stock price swings? And we need some volume to make those happen.

Re: Is everyone tired of SLW?
It's the wild stock price swings that probably caused less investment in SLW. Every time a buyout is done, the price should go up - but instead, the price is being brought down by people every single time.

In essence, it isn't worth investing in because people are trying to kill the goose and eat it instead of taking care of the golden eggs.

It is pretty amusing to watch investors self-destruct. The trouble is that they take others with them when they do.

Re: Is everyone tired of SLW?
I can't figure out what I should do then. I'm not a large investor. About 75,000 shares and L$25000 more I could put in if the time seemed right. I've been buying at 0.50 and selling at 0.60. Sold shares at 0.75 and 0.85 during the 2 buybacks. I've got my sells laddered at prices up to 0.85 then the bulk are at 1.03. This is a strategy that seems appropriate for a stock with a real intrinsic value. It's tougher to figure out what to do with this PoS whose value is dependent on Arb's reputation.

Damn, SciFi, you copied me (or I you).

Actually it is noce to see the volume drop to a more reasonable level so perhaps we have eliminated the people who have to have their money faster so there will be fewer people willing to settle.

With luck the price will start rising to the next (we all hope) buyback.

I'm not sure we have intrinsic value so much as ongoing cash flow... that we cannot predict or depend on (web site goes down, etc.). We can hope that Arb does get things into a higher gear so more cash can be brought to bare on stock buy back and retire.

I agree, there is NO investment in SLW no, only speculation that buybacks continue and retire shares. This won't change until more than half of the shares issued are retired.

Re: Is everyone tired of SLW?
It would have been so nice if LL had given the banks some warning of their policy. A few banks would have probably closed shop immediately and taken all the funds which is why LL didn't. But if they had then Arb could have put in withdrawal limits of say L$2000/day for a week. Then 1/2 of the depositors would have gotten all their money out and we'd have had that many fewer folks involved in SLW. It wouldn't change the current situation much except that you'd expect that the remaining investors, being bigger ones, would be more sophisticated and we might not have seen the desperation selling at 0.40.

I rechecked my Alt's account and it looks like I've got about 92000 shares total. The other account hasn't been an active trader and only has sells in the 0.80s and above 1. I sure hope I'm right and those people that sold to me at 0.42 were not.

Re: Is everyone tired of SLW?
agree. it´s NO investment just a simple "bet" that arb buys back up to 1.03.
But, there are wayyyy better bets out there ;)
(tx Red Sox for a nice 76% ROI..)

Re: Is everyone tired of SLW?
I looked at the top 10 investor list. None have sold and 4 have added to their positions in the past 2 weeks. Arb bought about 340,000 shares with 3 others adding about 87,000 shares. I have added shares which continues to lower my cost basis. I'll got buy orders for even more (though I'd rather see the stock go back to the 0.65-0.70 range).

Re: Is everyone tired of SLW?
The last (And the only) buyback was the 2nd March.
56 days had dated, and no buyack in horizon.
Time before convertion is another story.
So time, so tired.
No dividends, as a little hope.
No partials buybacks.
I suggest a prorated buy back.
Something...
